Ishan's Page

The main idea behind this website is to share our experiences with other parents and families who have children with Cri Du Chat Syndrome. I will always remember the words of the genetic specialist, after Ishan's diagnosis was confirmed. He said Ishan will teach us valuable lessons. This has been very true. Ishan has taught our family compassion, unconditional love, the ability to savor simple joys and small victories in life, perseverance, patience, he has shown us how strong we all really are, he has brought our close knit family even closer, and it is because of him that we have had the opportunity to meet some remarkable people along the way.

Ishan is now 7 years old and is in a self contained classroom. He loves music, looking a photographs, and is a huge flirt. Ishan is non-verbal and uses a wheelchair. He eats only pureed foods and does suffer from reflux. He has also been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. He is an extremely happy kid and in some ways is a typical 7 year old.
